Tour "A"   New Orleans City/Cemetary & Mardi Gras World Tour

The tour will include the Garden District where you will pass by elegant mansions exemplifying styles, including Greek Revival, Italianate and Queen Anne Victorians.

Travel down stately St.Charles Avenue along the streetcar line where two of the most prestigious colleges in New Orleans are located, Tulane University and Loyola University.

Pass by Audubon Park, which is a 400-acre park located in uptown New Orleans and built on the site of the 1884 World's Fair. City Park is another area you will enjoy. At 1,300 acres, it is one of the second largest urban parks in the country. The first parcel of land was acquired in 1854, making it one of the country's oldest parks.

You will enjoy a history of New Orleans including the first settlers, religion, culture, and of course, Mardi Gras. Make a stop at an above ground cemetery known as “The City of the Dead”

Mardi Gras World

You know this is going to be a fun tour as soon as you arrive. Colorful Mardi Gras props, like a gigantic jovial jester, fiercely realistic alligators, and a gorgeously exciting Marilyn Monroe with skirt flying greet one and all to this amazing fantasy factory.

You will even view the most awesome floats ever built for carnival - the Orpheus 140-foot triple-tandem sea monster "Leviathan" and the 240-foot quintuple-tandem "Captain Eddie's S.S. Endymion," with tens of thousands of fiber optic lights.

After a brief introduction by a knowledgeable guide and a spirited video about the history of Mardi Gras and the company, you can dress up in authentic, ornate carnival costumes. Visitors tap into their imaginations, as the ladies don sequined headdresses, gowns, and the gentlemen wear regal coats of armor, imagine yourself as a noble king or queen of the ball!

Tour "B"    Airboat Adventure Swamp Tour

(On a pontoon boat)

Wednesday May 13

9:45am - 11:30am

Set out on a 20,000-acre (8,095- hectare) tract of tidewater cypress swamp close to the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. Your flat-bottomed boat is leisurely guided through the shallow marshes.

Discover bayous lined with mossy cypress and tupelo-gum trees as your captain points out a stunning variety of wildlife. Enjoy a fully narrated tour by a local guide.Prepare to see plenty of alligators in the warmer months (and warmer days in winter), some of which may be sunning themselves on logs!

Your guide may even feed the gators, affording you amazing photo opportunities. Also, keep your eyes open for turtles, snakes, egrets, herons, and ibis. You may even catch sight of a hawk, owl, or bald eagle. In the cooler months, look for whitetailed deer, raccoons, and the large rodents known as nutria.

Tour "C"    Steamboat Natchez Jazz Dinner Cruise

When the New Orleans Steamboat Company launched the NATCHEZ in 1975, they revived more than a famous name. They created one of only two true steam powered sternwheelers plying the Mississippi today. The NATCHEZ combines the best of contemporary construction, safety, and comfort standards with all the authenticity and style of her classic steamboat gothic predecessors. The NATCHEZ is the pride of the Mississippi River and is as beautiful as any of her namesakes. Many of her crew have been with her since her maiden voyage. Their's is a whole new chapter in history of the river, and you can be a part of it.

Beyond All Boundaries Film

This film, created exclusively for the museum, is a unique and powerful 4-D cinematic experience available nowhere else in the world. Created and crafted with 21st-century technology and utilizing a 120-feet wide immersive screen, the production plunges viewers into the 20th-century’s most titanic struggle.

It tells the tale of the Greatest Generation's journey from Pearl Harbor into the fire of epic battles to America’s final victory in the War That Changed the World in the words of the veterans themselves. The Museum is honoredto have Tom Hanks as Executive Producer and the voices of some of Hollywood's top stars bringing to life the words of actual World War II participants and war correspondents.

The Priddy Family Foundation Freedom Theater

The theater on the third floor of Liberation Pavilion offers audiences a multimedia experience focused on what was at stake during World War II and the meaning of Allied victory.

The production, developed by THG Creative, highlights how freedom almost vanished from the world in the 1930s and 1940s, efforts to protect and promote freedom during and after World War II, and how each generation has a responsibility to defend democracy, protect freedom, and advance human rights. At a pivotal moment in the show, the theater audience platform itself rotates
