Tour "A"   Independence After Hours  

Monday August 20

We will depart the hotel at 5:00 PM and walk about 5 blocks to historic City Tavern for an authentic 18th Century dinner, served by staff in period dress. After dinner we'll stroll another 5 blocks to Independence Hall where we'll listen to the likes of Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin as they discuss the Declaration of Independence.

Tour Time: 4:45 PM (Depart at 5:00 PM)

Duration: Return to hotel by about 8:30 PM

Tour "B"   Seaport Museum

Tuesday August 21

Discover the city of Philadelphia's connection to the founding of the United States Navy. The permanent exhibition features curated objects never, or rarely, seen by the public highlighting the little-told story of America"s conflict with pirates. On display is the cruiser USS Olympia C-6. This vessel became famous as the flagship of Commodore George Dewey when at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War in 1898, he uttered the famous order "You may fire when ready Gridely". Also on display is the USS Becuna SS-319, a Balao-class submarine from WWII.

Tour Time: 9:45 AM (Departs 10:00 AM to walk about 4 blocks to PHLASH Bus Stop)

Duration: Return to hotel by 3:30 PM

Tour "C"   Museum of the American Revolution

Wednesday August 22

From the early stirrings of unrest in Boston to the opening shots of the War of Independence, and from signing of the Declaration of Independence to the creation of the American Republic, the Museum's core exhibition explores the ideas, events, and legacies of America's revolutionary beginnings.

Tour Time: 9:00 AM (Departs 9:15 AM to walk 3 blocks to museum.)

Duration: Return to hotel by 2:30 PM

Cost: $12.00 per person (Does not include lunch)
